How fun is camping in the wild?

Regardless of how fun the situation is, in all honesty, sometimes we can only realistically do that which you can afford to do. When you think of camping you probably think about A LOT of stuff and gear you need to buy, that is certainly not the case. Camping items certainly have their own place thought. They can simplify and ease your camping experience, but they are not required for a great camping experience.  

Camping is pretty open you'll be able to pretty much go starting as low as you want. If there is no chance of rain and it's also a nice night, spend the evening our under the stars having a couple of blankets. If you think your spouse would love this, then you have a pretty cheap date the place that the two of you'll be able to spend some meaningful time together. This could also be a great bonding time with your kids if that is an option.

If you have a tent you can set that up inside the back yard. Your kids may adore it. If you live around (according to town ordinances) come up with a little fire in a metal coffee can as well like it with some sticks and twigs.

You can use it to roast marshmallows, which is small enough if you save the lid, you are able to just seal it and get rid of the ash once it cools. (As always use caution when handling fire and get away from other flammable materials)  Another fun thing is always to just go for any hike. Stressed out about work? Need to relax? There is not much more relaxing than taking a walk over the woods, soaking in nature, letting tomorrow concern yourself with itself while you listen to the lake run across the rocks in the small creek.

This may not be for everyone and it is likely you shouldn't force your teenage kid to tag along if nature is just not their thing, but I would encourage you to try it sometime. Find a great quiet thinking place in nature to let your mind rest. It can make a world of difference.   Camping is not only for those who have "all the correct stuff". Camping is for all. For some people it takes a few more items so they can truly enjoy camping although some can enjoy it with almost nothing, that is perfectly okay. We are not yet and camping doesn't have to be the same for all. So take the time and GO CAMPING!.
